Seating in an airport yesterday with a 5 hour wait until my flight and thinkin'...

What if you were to take that big ass 17 gallon gas tank and cut it down. Cut it thru the middle and section it by taking about 3" out of it. This would lower the top.
No one fills it to the top anyway.

Why you ask???

Square fuel cells dont fit flat on the floor of the trunk and that puts the cell in front of the wheels. Not the best place to be.

Anybody got any thoughts on this? confused24.gif

I've seen one before, but they cut the end off and shortened it, rather than cutting the top off and lowering it. It was cut down to 11 gallons.
There's a bunch of baffles and stuff in there, if you cut the top off you'd need to deal with all of them, and the gas guage, but if you cut the end off, you only need to deal with one baffle.
