assuming you need to keep the cast filter base/linkage mount.
Why not fit them to that and weld/tig em from the backside making a one piece unit ?

because you wont be able to run an air cleaner

nice idea...

i want them to be removable, so im gonna tig em to the base plates.....

still have to siamese em together LOL
