Finally got everything put back in and hooked up. Lots of new parts , bushings , etc. Before wouldn't idle and idle adj would have no effect. Replaced all hoses and fuel lines and went through all of the electrical in the harnesses for the engine and fuel inj. Found some problems and now it runs and idles and idle adj screw actually works. That is the good , now for the bad, after replacing all bushings in the shift linkage , I can't get 1st or reverse. Does this sound like a simple adjustment of the shifter? Never had to adjust one of these before. Any hints from the experts out there?
Oh , yea. SS exhaust with TRIAD muffler. Sounds great , looks good. Wife says too loud, must be just right.

It sounds like you are out of adjustment at the shifter base (to shift bar). It is pretty easy to do, let us know if you need guidance.

Pelican forum has an article on adjusting the shift linkage. might try that !
