Would you need this with your "Rear Pickup points Reinforcing Kit"?

I have found that the area where these patches go often rusts from the inside and doesn't become apparent until the ear starts to tear off. My larger reinforcing kit does not address this possibility. With both products working together I think the rear suspension pickup areas will be both rigid and secure from the likelihood of failure.
