My neighbor is the DuPont Auto rep for Southern California and has offered his assistance in the body work and paint on my car. The weather has started to cool so we started gettin er done.

Right rear first. Found some ripples under the passenger tail light.

Wow nice sheet metal. I started to do that to mine and soon found three layers of paint and a thin coat of glaze about 1/16 to 1/8 inch over the whole body? What the hell were they thinking PO that is? I just sent it to the body shop and tolt them to sand it smooth and go from there.

beer.gif I see sheet metal, me envious.
Allan
After looking at the right rear fender my neighbor thought it best that I take it down to metal as he was seeing some areas he had concern about.

Glad he is helping.
Allan
Found some holes where a patch was welded in.

I got the Fuchs when I did the 5 lug conversion in July.

The MSD, Blaster II coil and Pertronix rock!!!!!!!!

Anybody know how far I need to pull the fender to fit 8 inch Cookies with 225 tires?
Aaron Cox
silly rabbit. no such thing as an 8" cookie....

7's require a solid inch with 225's on em.....

8's are a little more.. aim for 2".. and HAVE THE WHEEL to mock it up on...

i bought my wheels and tires.. and made teh car fit around them LOL

and a 7" cookie has a slightly worse offset than a 7" fuch IIRC
Allan
Gotcha...

what are the plans? a "lip flare" like mine? or a "panel flare" where it is even more subtle as the whole panel is reshaped

8x15 fuchs, jacked out ,door gap bad, Looks Great Though.
Aaron Cox
stretching does have a nasty habbit of FUBARing door gaps....
Allan
Okay, finally got off of my lard ass and re-started on the car.
Allan
Update on the fat tires. I'm staying skinny. I like the look.

Quarter and sail panel stripped down to bear metal.
Allan
Filled in holes for trim and re-welded some bad areas.
Allan
Dollied some bulges to even out the contour of the fender. You would not believe the amount of bondo that I removed.
Aaron Cox
nice work amigo
