I was going to drive it to work today but then realized I'd have to make a very out- of- the- way detour to avoid a construction zone. Roads clotted with mud, gravel, tar sprayers, and cell- phone talking, Starbucks-sipping, attention-deficient women driving luxo-SUVs and 914s don't mix. So I wimped out and left it in the garage.

Yesterday, I drove the 4 cylinder. Today, I will be driving the 6 cylinder. On Friday, the BMW R1100 RS-SE.
I mix it up. I rarely if even drive the Supercharged 4Runner to work as it is a 20 mile trip and it gets atrocious mileage. Sure tows a trailer well though!
Trekkor
Sep 14 2006, 10:20 AM
I'll take the car off the trailer bleed the brakes, install the new track tires and take a few laps in the Vineyard.
Get it back up on the trailer, I'm leaving for a two day weekend at Laguna Seca tomorrow.

Click to view attachmentDrove mine today and of all days the horn relay decides to fail! So I had a blaring horn till I could pull over and turn the key off. Pulled the fuse and its still came on when I turned the key on. Had to take the grill off and disconnect the wire off the horn. Changed the relay when I got home.

Yep, I drove her around a couple of country roads today. I kept the drive fairly short so that I had time to clean off the road grime from the 1500 mile round trip to the SEC. She is looking great again and is clean enough to drive to work tomorrow
Special occasions have pretty much become any day that the sun is shining! What a BLAST!!!

Drove my 914-6 on 9/14/06 today, up Stunt and down Piuma in my normal brisk style. All was good. The balck and white at the top of Stunt was busy ticketing some SUV.

Gonna be fun when the conversion's done! Gotta get those parts ordered soon...

I only drive it at the track.. oh yes it has insurance and all.. but it's missing the front license plate . wipers . has a roll cage and I JUST DON'T have the time for a 'fix it ticket...it's bad enough getting a ticket the other day doing 85 in the 70 zone on the '5' going to Stockton last weekend:(

I drive my 75' every day I can, which is virtually every day here in central Texas. If I don't, I just can't shake the feeling that something isn't right. Such is the life of an aircooled addict.
