All this seal does is support and seal the windshield but modern sealant can do the same, correct? I will have a black glass frit to hide the seal to dash gap so I'm thinking I may go without it... idea.gif

i have a modern sealed installed window...

i can take that seal in and out no prob... it mostly hides the gap between the dash top and window

no idea...but are you okay with button head cap screws for your steering wheel?

a socket head flat head would work however I'd need to turn the diameter down from .507 to .437 and chamfer or round the edges...the height of the head would be .153 instead of .116 of the M5 screw

I suppose, I have a padded cover but I sort of like the screws showing. Would the button heads seat ok? The M5's won't work with helicoils?
