Doing some cleanup in the pedal cluster area, but am having trouble removing the accelerator cable socket from the ball. Is there a trick to this?? Should this just pull apart?? I'm a little worried about applying too much force and bending or snapping something. Any help??

Insert large bladed screw driver thru the tunnel between lever and socket at the
ball and twist the blade. This should do it. Before you reinstall the socket lube or
grease it. dimitri

I just poke a screwdriver in there and pop the socket off the ball.
