This question may be , but I need to know anyways. What's the widest wheels and tires someone has put under a narrowbody 914 without major modification? I want to go to five lug, and probably just get some used Fuchs wheels. Plus I wouldn't mind rolling the inner edge of the fenders. Anyone got any good combinations.

I saw one that had, I think they were 7" with 225's in back.

16x7s fuches with 225s
major rolling

7x15 Fuchs with 225x50 DOT R rubber. More like a 245 street size.
Fenders will need a little work but will remain stock in appearance

We just had a thread about rolling of fenders. Without rolling, you're options are limited. I pulled my rear fenders to allow 225's on 8" rims. It's not obvious, but it's not perfectly straight either... There are pics of a number of rolled/pulled cars, mine included...
