This may have been done before. If it was, just cast me out into the neververse & forget it.

But....I seriously doubt that MOST of us started with a Porsche.

How about a compendium of where we all got hooked on cars?

Pics required! Don't care if it was last week or.....whenever. Don't car if it was bikes, but needs to be road licensed.

Not my actual car but my first car was spitfire. Yellow with a black top

Scary cars. Ever have your brake lights just stop working with a truck behind you. About the 3rd time this happened I quit driving it.

My first car was a 1967 Austin Healey 3000.

It had been rolled over, and I bought it for $500, and "rebuilt" it.

Never looked pretty, but it ran okay most of the time. I finally
bought my first 914 to replace it in 1972

Check out this Bad Ass Machine (not actual pics of my car, for some reason I never took pictures of that car) The 1982 Ford Escort EXP, two seats of front wheel drive, 80HP, catfish looking, metric, piece of SH!T. Mine was Tan, or beige in color...I got it in '86, and at that point, only 4 years old, It was considered disposable. My Dad paid $1600, and then spent another 600 fixing stuff that would be broken again less than 6 mo. later.

And I wanted a '76 280Z...

My first was a 1980 Chevy Chevette (Little Vette), that was purchased for my 16th birthday by my father for $200. I fixed it up and put 50,000 miles on it delievering pizza and then sold it working for $500.

Great little car that got 27 mpg while running hard.

My first car I got I had to restore. I starting when I was 15. Finished it back to original when 18.

Then dad came home drunk and decided to take it for a spin.......

First vehicle was a truck. Bought it November 05. 1990 Isuzu PUp. 4WD 2.6L manual. I loved it. No AC though. We sprayed the whole outside with rhino lining.

Then came the Maxima. Some that had AC when it got hot and it was free. Ran well. No pics.

I then bought the 914 March this year. About 2 months after I got my license.

I actually got into cars with the whole ricer scene. My car was going to be a Honda Del Sol with a kit and metal wing, fart can and intake. Soon after that I got into classics starting with the classic mini. Then the Boxster then something I could afford, the 924. After talking with this guy who had one he was talking about 914's I stumbled on here and have wanted one ever since. I finally found her and wouldn't trade her for the world.

First car I ever drove! ... that was in my mom's green 2CV with a big ass yellow duck sticker on the back. This is not a pic of the actual car but looks pretty much like it. That thing was a hoot.
The first car I owned was a 99 Expedition ... got actual pics of that one but way too boring to post.

I paid my cousin $300 for a '79 Chevy Monza. Before I got my licence, I had the car painted by a friend Corvette White with "Porsche" red strip up the hood and over the roof. I also added chome painted rims from the local recycler.
edit: I almost forgot that I added so much ArmorAll to the interior and seats! that you couldn't keep in the seat when taking any corner over 5mph.
