yeh, in 1974, I had a chance to buy a 1962 Corvette all original for $750.00. and a 1970 Boss 302 with 24,000 miles for $1,900.00

This car is in good hands, it is involved in a restoration at this point.
$10k in today's dollars is about $35k.
But $10k dollars invested in 1975 would be $191k today if you got a solid 10% return (8% = $108k). So then it's about a wash...
