It's true that there were rather few 914-6es made for the 1972 model year. None were officially imported to the US, though I know of a number that were later brought over. That includes a metallic-blue one in Reno... I don't know if this is the same one. The VIN listed on that page is not correct (too many digits, starts neither with 47 nor 914) so you can't really tell from that.
Anyway, it's possible it's an original six. If not, it's a Six conversion. Cool either way, IMHO.

I know of at least one 1972 914-6 that was sent to a customer. The car was White and had a 2.4S motor with weber carburetors. This car was on Long Island in 1974 and the gentleman special ordered this car through his fathers dealership. He was a friend of Gordon Healey who owned a Import repair shop. I remember this car as my 914-6 was at Gordons with him helping me do my first engine rebuild when his friend showed up with the 72. I have not lived on LI for many years and would be interested in hearing from anyone that knows Gordon or the White 914-6.
