Looks cool. Nice project. Ofcourse you don't really know anything until you see the insides- hell hole, longitudinals, trunks, floor pans. Get ready to weld if you're adventurous and the car needs it. Ask him for a vin number, old car maybe an interesting model, who knows? Original paint? No engine or running gear? What does he mean by running gear? Things do get expensive buying part after part. And for $2000, that would be an overpriced project car unless it is special.

Running gear usually means drivetrain i.e. motor & tranny. I've seen alot worse foe 2k. Heck I bet you could get both his cars for 2k.
