Have the original style fuel pump in the 72 914 (three port) I have had two of them that ran fine, then after sitting a prolonged period, they started leaking when powered up . they did dry out of gas while sitting. the leaks are at the electric connector. there is a rubber seal that appear to have failed.

I am thinking the rubber shrank when it dried out, yet soaking in fuel overnight has not yet fixed it.

has else anyone has experienced this?

any repair ideas? thes babies are not made to dissasemble and repair. just wondering what the real deal is.

thanks

IIRC... that is the only thing you can really repair on the pump.

Someone here has done but I can't remember who.

Common problem after sitting for a long time.

any source for the seal?

Dunno... I'd try HPH or GPR. Maybe even a dealer.
