I put a PM to Dr. Evil about cleaning a tranny, but I havnt heard back and want to do this early tomorrow morning...anyways, I have a good combo for cleaning the tranny and am taking it to a pressure washing place, but I want to know if there are any parts I need to protect while spraying it?
I'm having it rebuilt this soon so I'm not too concerned about being careful, however I don't want to ruin a perfectly good part if I don't have to...any thoughts?

If you are rebuilding it soon then the parts that I would be concerned about is
your CV's. They are NLA and a preasure washer could force water into them
causeing them to rust. I would do something to protect my reverse switch also.

Tape the vent on top.
i used "Gunk" engine degreaser and a stiff nylon brush. repeat. rinse.

so.cal...sorry for the confusion, i should have been more specific, it is an extra tranny already out of the car, so I dont have to worry about anything in the car...
i'll tape the vent, thanks for the head-ups. i've been using foaming tire spray/engine brite...both work great in different ways, and the engine brite is great at foaming up to get into the nooks.
