Has anyone tried to install an electric windshield washer pump on a 914? I just bought my first 914, to be used as a daily driver, but I have owned several older VW's. Even in the 70's, I got tired of not having any pressure to wash the windshield, and a flat spare tire.

Check in the classic threads there is a thread all about installing a windshield washer pump..

i did, and i used an early 924 wiper stalk so when you pull on it it engages the pump.

Hard to find the 924 stalk now. I bet I could convert a stock 914 to work if anyone wanted to send me a test subject. I could document it for everyone.

I thought the late 914 stalks had unused switch contacts in them that could be used for an electric pump.

I remember doing this conversion on my previous car (1976) and not having to change or modify the stalk.

yep, you can definitely modify the stalk,

There's even an extra pin that u can use for the V+ on the stalk connector
