I think recently on this board I saw a gas cap cover cut into the hood.
Looked like and Audi TT Gas Flap. I can not find the posting.
Anyone have any details on doing this or think it will work for the 914

We talked about a gas cap like that before
The location of the gastank (or better, the filler neck) in a 914 makes it pretty much impossible...
(not counting those ugly big square Longacre cap-covers)
But if you can come up with a good suggestion, I'm interested!
cheers,

Hey, that's cool.
That was actually the only solution we could come up with back then... never knew anyone actually went out and build it
Who's car is this?
cheers,

THis car belongs to Martin Arnaud. He came to the Orlando 914 get-together in June.
He has a twin-plugged 3.5L with Electromotive Ignition, 930 brakes... sweet car.
Pics can be seen here...

somebody fix this server it is slllloooooowww
The filler cap from Martin's car is from BAT (the guys in Sarasota, FL that sell all the Mocal stuff).
I actually have a new one here in the box. I was thinking of doing it too... but decided against it.

Kellzey, were you going to put it on the hood just over the gas tank filler.

Now this is a very cool mod (the reversed hinges on the rear hood)

The filler door on the black car on Pelican is a Ford Mustang GT option. It's a flush mount door that replaces the stock filler door, it can be mounted on the hood over the tank. The hole when you open the door it big enough to remove the gas cap.
I got one for my 914 GT conversion.
