Did a search on fitment for the 16x6 Fuchs and wanted to confirm my findings. Found a comparison chart that sez the 15's and 16's x 6 are identical offset and backspacing(36mm offset and 121 bs). Thinking of putting the 16's on a nonflared car and don't really want to roll the lip.

Can anybody confirm the 16's are plug and play? I'm guessing this isn't more popular because of the weight hit? Are they the same alloy, same strength?

Aaron, thanks for confirmation. clap56.gif

Anybody got semi-polished (black w/polished paddles and lip) 16x6 Fuchs on your ride? How about a photo please?

I did the conversion from 4 to 5 lug. I too was interested in the weight issue with 16" Fuchs. The guy who did my tires had a pretty accurate scale. What we found was the 16x6 5 lug fuchs were only 1/4 pound more than the 4 lug 2.0L Fuchs. Very nice deal having 205/50 on a 6" rim versus 205/55 on a 15". I think the rim weights were 11 3/4#s and 12#s (16"), but I'm certain of the 1/4# difference. I don't have any photos.

here is the fitment
225 x 50 x 16 on 7x16 rear and 205x50x16 on 6x16 front on my 914-6

6x16s should be pretty easy to find and fairly cheap...none of the 911 guys want them up front they all go to 7 and 8 x 16s smile.gif

Here's my car with 16's, no flares.

Dan,
Did you pull the rear to get the 7's on?

If you interested I know a guy in Santa Rosa thats got a very clean pair of 7x16s sitting in his garage that he wants to sell. I think he wanted $350. PM me if you are interested. On my 75 with 205 on6x16s I rolled the fender lip to be safe. Most likely you will have to do some more serious "fender rolling" to get the 225 on 7s to fit.

Yes, the rear fenders were slightly pulled and the lips were rolled... it was done very nicely so unless you had the car sitting next to a stock 914 most folks could not tell the difference.

I also ran 225x50 DOT Rs on the rear on 7x15s when the car was tracked....
those tires are wider than street 225s and they fit with room to spare...

If done correctly the pull/roll can be done very easily and nicely. biggrin.gif

Can you get 16x7's up front?
DanT
Yep...without much trouble
John Kelly
Probably not much help but...16X6s, 205/40? tires one inch spacer/adaptors, lowered, about a 1" stretch on all four fenders.

I put 16 x 6 and 7's on the race car I purchased from THOMAS. The rear fender lips were rolled however.

I have a solid set of black 16 x 6 (powdercoated) with hoosers for AX'ing as well.

No fitment problems!

BTW - the two stacks of tires behind the car show the difference in 15 x 7's the taller stack, and 16 x 6, the shorter stack - BIG Difference!
