I have a carb'd 2.0 engine in my 75 914, what are the best spark plugs to use? When I brought it home and pulled the plugs to find that the last owner had been using the wrong ones

Looks like they are type I beetle plugs (short reach).

Thanks for the help,
AJ

Or BP5es by NGK and get a pointless ignition.

BP5ES has an extended tip, which is not what the book calls for in this application. Probably work, though. The Cap'n

B6ES is the right heat range for a stock ignition i thought

i run the colder B5ES with my CDI and big coil ignition

Uhhhhh, Aaron? A B5ES is HOTTER than a B6ES. NGK numbers run hot to cold, Bosch numbers run cold to hot. PMO recommends running a pretty hot plug with Webers because they tend to run pretty rich throught the range. They should know. The Cap'n

dangit ... i have the 7's then LOL (fricken bosch scale in my head)

with an MSD or Mallory CDI box... and a healthy coil.. its pretty hard to foul a big gapped plug....

what does PMO reccomend when you have a healthy ignition?

thanks for teh correction krusty
