It seems to me that I have seen this answer before on this board, but I cannot find with search function, so here goes...

Pelican, GPR, etc...sell the Turn Signal Relay for $33.00 USD

Mid America has one that has the identical function, pin alignment, voltage, for mid 70s Type 3's, for $10.00 USD...

Since I'm over budget by say, OH, a Million dollars on this restoration, I'm wondering if they can be used interchangeably...Is this one of those instances where it says PORSCHE and therefore should be marked up 300%...

Anyone have any advice, experience or suggestions...

VWs use 3 pin flashers, Porsches use 4 pins. All the 914s use the same relay now, and it fits a lot of other Porsches. List price is close to 40 bucks. The Cap'n

I've got a VW style 4 pin in my 74 and it's not perfect (around $9 from busdepot). Mostly works normal except if I have the e-brake on the e-brake light and the turn signal indicators blink together. Minor inconvenience.
