Getting ready to put in my new clutch and flywheel. I have all the necessary parts (seals, felt washer, etc).

My rear main seal is only one year old and does not leak at all. Do I need to replace it since I am replacing the flywheel?

I only ask as I had difficulty getting the RMS to seal properly last winter and ended up doing it a couple of times. Would rather not go through that again.

thanks
Allan

JR, If it doesn't have oil on it when you pull the flywheel, leave it alone!!!!!!!

I have changed my flywheel a few times, once because the face was fuched up

and had been resurfaced one to many times and once to put a lightened fly

in it. The original had a grove worn in it where the seal rides on the flywheel.

New part new seal. It is cheap insurance. And replace the pilot bearing also,

and the throw out bearing if it needs it.

If you're replacing the flywheel, you MUST check the endplay, and adjust if necessary. The Cap'n
