in the cracks, so to speak. i don't think a different media would make a difference unless the particles are much bigger ...
i have cleaned out the car countless times, still no end in sight.

When I stripped my wife's 73 3 years ago, I sandblasted it. Spent 2 weeks blowing out everylittle nook and cranny, and to this day I can spend a few minutes tapping on it with my hand and have little piles of sand everywhere! About 2 years ago I had a 65 mustang convertible media blasted with plastic media, and same thing, just bigger particles. If I can keep from it, I will NEVER have anything blasted again!!!!
