The circle clip that holds on the idler gear inside the cover plate fell off......fuching .75 part.....

What else did it take w/ it?

Now you know the trans is done right... never have to worry about it again.

Nothing internal is bad....gasket kit, new circlip and I'm gonna replace the 36mm nuts on the end of the shafts....some Swepco and back in it goes....the nuts are like 25 bucks each....

pretty bad when the most $$ part of your tranny re-build is the gear lube...LOL

Your right, it beats installing a new set of sparkplugs.

In a generic sort of way this proves the old saying...


"A $3,000.00 Picture tube will blow out to protect at $.75 fuse"

Yeah...with the engine and trans out...it's also easier to replace the hood gas struts that went dead.
