Late 73-76 side shifter. Not a 6.

that is so freaky - I have two engine bay shift rods - one on my 1975 and one on thre shelf - both have a big curve or bow running almost the entire length of the rod - but this one is mostly straight ???????????

There is no such thing as an original -6 sideshifting rod! All of us had to fabricate/modify other rods to work in a -6 with a sideshifting transmission.
It looks to me like this is a rod that was modified to work in a -6 conversion. Mine is straight, but the mild bend would work as well. It probably depends on the engine mounting system chosen.

that makes sense to me - i guess there is a chance this is not a 914 part at all ??
