I need to buy a new muffler for my '71 1.7. The PO put on a Monza, which I can't stand. I know some people dig them and that's great, but I really don't care for them. I have the stock HE and plan to keep them as I live in the midwest where heat is sometimes a necessity. I'm thinking of going with either the stock muffler or possibly the Sebring. One of my main concerns is noise. I'm trying to quiet the old girl down a bit. biggrin.gif

Any opinions?

If you can find a stock muffler, go for it. It's a good compromise, but I understand that they're getting hard to find. All the other choices will be louder.

If you're only going to drive the car in dry weather I would go with the Sebring.

It's inexpensive and sounds pretty good but not too loud. I had one on my 2.0 and liked it.

If you are looking for a muffler try a Walker 22385 its the same one
used on the Bursch exhaust system. Nice sound not too loud.
