The dealer says factory touch up paint in this color is NLA. I need to keep my rock chips in good shape.

Any ideas?

Easy. We have the paint custom mixed in glasurit or sikkens, two of the original manufacturers for the original paint Porsche used.
Just call your local auto body paint store and ask for volkswagen color number L64k or Porsche m7v9 and they will mix a pint for about 28 bucks!

Automotive paint houses can mix up just about any factory color. They should have a catalog with the mix levels. The new paint is often too bright for a 30 year old car that has been exposed to the elements though.

Your next option would be to take a chip off of the car and see if the paint house can match it. Most of the time they can if you can get a big enough chip.

Since paint fades, and repaints are not always spot on, your best bet is to find the paint supplier for your area body shops. We have a local Sherwin Williams supply house. They have this very nice and very expensive paint reading gun. It's like a big radar looking gun thing. Call around and find out which place has the"gun" and drive the car over and have them use the gun on your car. Should be a nice sunny day... Anyhow, the place I use will then download a code from the gun and mix a small touch up bottle on the spot.

They don't seem to carry our paints anymore. I called and left a message there, but the website doesn't have anything.

Craig does have the best answer, but another alternative is Tower Paint. They will mix and ship either a spray can or touch-up bottle and they can do all our colors I think. Probably won't be as accurate as matching the weathered paint on your car.
