when i pulled my oil pump one stud was lsot and i have now pulled them all out.

i got the wrong size from ACE and am wondering...

what is there to keep me from replacing the studs and nuts with m8 bolts?

HAHAHAHAHAHA

its no big deal to head back down to ace.

im returning the wrong studs anyways...

just wondering if there are reasons not to do that.

Jim ....

1.) Studs give better clamping force than a bolt.

2.) You are working with aluminum, which is a "soft material". It is very easy to pull threads/cross thread when inserting a bolt and especially when you overtighten it.

There's my nickel's worth.

You can always back studs out and replace them...when you cross thread a bolt you can screw up the soft aluminum...then ya gotta retap, cuss swear, bitch and holler.....
