Hi,

Walk me through the steps.
Take out tranny.
Take out gear stack...

From there...next steps to removee and replace the 5th gear set so I can get a bigger gear set in there.
Dont go off talking about gear sizes, I got that covered.
Dont hijack please...
Keep on topic, and make a classic thread.

see all the tranny links in my profile.

if you remove a 5th gear for another 5th gear ratio you will need to measure the thickness of the old gear and the new gear on the pinion shaft and remove or add shims in the measured difference - is how I understand it.

i will delete this post if I am dead wrong : )

Follow redbeard article and remove the 5th gear and the 5th driven gear off the two shafts and replace them and reinstall everything back together.

too hard to do a written "How to" as its been done.

Jim is on the money. You need to compare the dimentions and shim accordingly. If not you will have gears out of allignment most likey.
