remove the vanes where the oil dumps out of the lifter bores with a dremel and bent open the other vanes. thumb3d.gif

I`m rebuilding the 2056 and wondern` about the advantages of this modification? Are there any negatives?

Benefits? cooler oil temps.

For a street engine remove the vanes like I said.

For a race engine remove the vanes and Drill a bunch of 1" holes in the flat areas so no oil puddles on the tray.

Under high rpms the type 4 engine fills the valve covers halfway with oil as it just doesnt return fast enough thru the pushrod tubes/thru the tray.
