Why was the 2.0 the only Type 4 motor to use the oil baffle pan? What was special that the 2.0 need this item and none of the other engines did not? Is it a matter of oil starvation on hard cornering? Inquiring minds want to know.

Only the early W code 914's didn't have them. All of the EA's and EC's I have opened had them. Buses didn't but the cases have the slot built in.
