Why was the 2.0 the only Type 4 motor to use the oil baffle pan? What was special that the 2.0 need this item and none of the other engines did not? Is it a matter of oil starvation on hard cornering? Inquiring minds want to know.

Its interesting to see the progress of porsche engine lubrication including updated oil pumps, oil lines, and gallies.

Only the early W code 914's didn't have them. All of the EA's and EC's I have opened had them. Buses didn't but the cases have the slot built in.
