I'm continuing to make progress on my engine build and have come up with a few questions. Due to money constraints (as many of you have heard me whine about before) I'm using almost 100% used parts on this car. So here is my question(s):
Used/Rebuilt 96mm AA P/C's:
-I got .022" on the top and second ring gaps. Anyone see a problem with this?
-My DH is approximately .055" (my home made DH tool needs some work) and chamber volume of 58cc. This gives me 8.5:1 CR with Jakes 9050 cam. This cam has a recommended CR of 9-9.5:1. If I trim down the cylinders to reach .040" DH I can get 8.9:1 - worth it or should I consider cutting the heads down to decrease head cc's?
-Can I assume correctly that the valve notches in the piston go down?
I'm really getting close now. I have almost all my tin cleaned and painted and the top end mocked up for measurement.
I appreciate any and all thoughts.
Thanks.
-Aaron
