How about giving out awards to the best of the best? So we don’t have to get concours judges and to make it easy, they could be selected by attendees by popular choice vote?

Categories could include:
Best stock 914/4
Best modified 914/4
Best stock 914/6
Best modified 914/6

Event Meisters (Brads) Choice awards for:
Most exciting 914 in attendance
First VIN / Last VIN attending the event
Tech quiz champ
Special recognition to the pre-registered attendee traveling furthest to attend event

I would add "People's Choice" only because sometimes there is a car that doesn't quite fit into any other category.

I agree with Jeff and Sean , it takes all the Bull Shit out of the event organizers hands. Alot less complicated, every registered 914 gets a ballot, deposits in a certain location ,then counted ,and results given. No judges,no judging forms, no concour guys arguing that your using the wrong form from the wrong organization. Let the attendies pick. my 2 cents Dave
P.S. Love this site: Brad: you just added a nother 2 hr. two my computer time a day. smilie_flagge6.gif

dido, Set a few classes to spread out the awards, put it in the entry packet, and have a peoples choice award.

Like nicest paint, best interior, Best stock looking 6, best stock looking 4, best conversion, etc.

there can still be a few organizing committee awards like furthest distance, stuff like that. But the bulk of the voting would be peoples choice.

What are we going to do about the awards themselves? I really liked what I saw Lawrence do a while back, with custom made awards. I'd hate to see us use really cheapie stuff.

I like the engraving that was used on the 914 O. A. award.
I had a local shop make the one with the laser cut wood engraving.
Cost was about $20 each for 7 x 9 plaques. They look really nice.
