I am the proud owner of 912E #18xx & need to undo 6 years worth of sitting in the garage.

Engine & trans to be dropped shortly & a re-built motor standing by
Trans majic by Dr. Evil
new Master Cyl
re-build calipers & pedal asm by Eric Shea (new soft lines & what else???)
fuel tank remove & boilout (new soft lines & what else???)

I need help in flushing out the hard fuel & brake lines. Replace? Flush w/ boiling water? w/kerosene? w/ ????????

I just blow air thru them at 125 psig.

If you want to clean lacquer outta the fuel lines you will have to use carb / brake cleaner, fill them, let'em sit for a day and then blow air thru em.

Flush the brake lines with alcohol, available at any paint store. Flush the fuel lines with fuel, or maybe alcohol. Plan on replacing the flexible brake hoses, too. I recommend, for safety reasons as well as cost, the OE rubber hoses. The Cap'n

Should the solid lines be replaced? Not to hijack your thread, but was just curious as to the need to replace my 30+ year old ones.
