If you're looking for a lightweight high strength method to stiffen the frame of your 914, our die stamped clam shells are the answer! Our frame kit overlays the entire outer half of the longitudinal, doubling the thickness of the steel while preserving the original look of your 914.
No one will ever wonder if you are trying to paper over serious frame problems the way they often do when they see one of those bulking fabricated frame kits because they will never know your clam shells are there. And you will have no fit problems when reinstalling your door step plates and outer rocker panels.
Unknown to many people is the fact that the inner longitudinal (the inner half of the unit body frame box) on the 914 is a double layer construction. It has a ribbed inner liner similar to the ribbed inner rocker panel portion of the outer half of the frame box (visible when you remove the outer rocker panel), which is overlayed by our clam shell kit. Consequently, our frame stiffening clam shells are in keeping with the original construction design of the 914.
