adding oil temp gauge need 12v constant

i have the sender wire through the tunnel
and i have the 12v switch power(light)
i have the grounds
i just need to get the 12v hot constant.
what gauge would i get that from?
tach or fuel?
and what terminal?

Either. I believe it is a red wire with a white stripe.

red w/ white stripe wire indeed is switched +.
if you wired it to a constant +, they would read oil temperature even when the keys are not in the ignition.

If you have the console, use the clock + it is not switched.

he has a 72 (in his sig)
73 and later were wired with the center console harness
