I have a potential rebuilder but can't locate the title or previous owner. Texas reissued the license plate in '06. Tags on car expired in 1990. Carfax won't search for anything over 17 years old. I'm stuck. Can anyone help or run a VIN?

did this for a bike- call the state of texas DMV main office (usually on DMV's webpage for the state) they gave me all the info they could legally give.
