putting a 2.0 i my 73 orange money pit. will my mps work with a 2.0 or are they different?

Nope, 1.7 is 049. 2.0 is 037 for 73, 74-76 is 043. You will need the matching ECU and the correct cylinder head temp sender for each year.

Last theory I heard was that they ARE the same, just calibrated differently. You can recalibrate your 2.0 to 1.7 specs, and away you go!

Bleyseng is the one who does the recalibrations. To work well you will need this done. You are lucky in that you have a 73 brain in your car. It was the same for 1.7 and 2.0. You will need to make sure to use the 2.0 injectors and you will need to either find (not likely) or modify the CHT on the engine as the 73 CHT was a special one with a different value that I can not remember. You can always try to take the one off of your 1.7 as it should be the same, and the 2.0 you get will likely have one in it, but I would check resistances of the CHT against the values listed on pbanders page in the link above.

I don't do recalibrations, I just provide info on how to do it, see my site. The only difference between a 1.7 and 2.0 MPS is how it's calibrated. Both have exactly the same part-load calibration, they differ only in how they richen the mixture under medium to full-load conditions.
