Just throwing this out there to see what your experiences have been. 1)Can I tow a 914 with a towbar if it has a transaxle but no engine? 2)Anyone had a good experience with body work and paint in Tijuana, Mexico? I have to be in Cali for a wedding in August and considered heading across the border for an inexpensive spray job...thanks, daveyboy

Pull the trans and axles... it's A LOT of work to keep the trans in one place w/o a motor, and if it gets loose.... YIKES!

Several members have painted cars south o' da border. (not me)

Yes you can tow it without the motor and transmission.
As stated above, you need to remove the entire axle from both sides.

You MUST leave the stub axle in place, and never put the wieght of the car on the wheel without the stub axle in place, or you could damage the rear wheel bearing.
