But, and I'm curous here, why hasn't someone started something like this group for the "draggers"? I have a mid '73T & haven't been able to find anything "warm & fuzzy" like this group for 914's.

Why? Am I missing something? Are early 911 people different from 914 people? Shouldn't be.

Well I actually read the first 12 pages then gave up and just looked at the pics. What a fuchin a-hole ! Must be nice to have an endless supply of money BEAUTIFUL car!!

Being a 911 owner myself... I'm not sure this type of list would be conducive to the average 911 owner. Something about lots of them taking themselves too seriously...???

I agree! I've been following it for a few months also - too bad its going over to the UK with Matteo. I think I saw its going to be in San Luis Obispo for a early 911 meet around May day weekend, but chassis only.

Rennlist is as close as it gets I think... Funny, Rennlist 914 section is so dead you can hear a pin drop but the 911 section is quite busy. The experts come out to play anytime you have a question and they even have some whack jobs just like us. I took my '84 911 about 200 miles through the Sierra's today on the CRAB tour. Fun Fun Fun... Not as fun as a 914 on an autocross course but just enough more civility to make it a better long distance road machine...

Peeeerdy. I'm not gonna condemn the 911 people any more because there are plenty of happy down to earth sports car folks out there. Its the ate up ones we have to worry about

I think you might find the early 911 groups interesting. While I was
deciding what to buy a couple years ago I found them to be a pretty cheerful
bunch.

"911" covers a lot of territory, both chronologically and dollarologically.
Accordingly, I think it attracts a wide range of tastes and personalities.
OTOH 914s seem to me to have all inhabited pretty much the same class during
their too-brief existence and most of them remain pretty affordable today.
(Snobs often aren't as interested in affordability as "bling".) Maybe that
affordability (and the 914's unique styling and place in Porsche's lineup)
attracts teener folk with a somewhat shared approach toward life that is
exhibited in part as a more congenial atmosphere in the forums here.

Just went through all 40 pages and WOW! I know everyone here would do the same if resources were not an issue. Its always fun to build something...

...and to be fair to Teo, this really isn't DWD. This car "will" be whole again.

Actually.. it is. Teo started with trying to fix his 88 (89). He got to the "while I am in there" stage, and ended up with a 74 tub. The 88 (89?) tub will never be run again.

So that makes it a DWD affliction.





And it is a beautiful car!!

(I just want the motor for a 914 )
