Before I drop $80 on a new switch I wanted to ask if there was anything other than a bad switch behind the brake pedal that would cause the brake lights to come on and stay on the entire time the car is running. Thanks Also, anyplace better than pelican to get the part - it's $80 there

If the disk that holds the switch arm is bent or if you installed a new MC and got the arm behind the disk so that the switch is always in the closed position, the lights will be on. You could also check into frayed/scraped wires.
Ask a couple of the parts whores if they have a used one (I don't).

The arm for the brake light switch is on the wrong side of the washer on the pushrod. BTDT!
