i downloaded some flv video files, think they are flash but when i try to play them won't work. i do have the flash plugin and separate player installed but the files only play if i use the webpage they came from.

You need a FLV to AVI converter.

I think theyre available.

i use a standalone player called, well "FLV Player"

it works OK, hasn't been updated in a while, has some quirks but plays the files just fine ...
