Full Version: idle adjustment in a '73 2 litre.

My car has the correct ECU,MPS etc. and by using the clck stop pot on the ECU in conjunction with the throttle bleed screw I can get a good idle speed/ performance.If you have a different ECU how can you obtain satisfactory performance without the pot adjustment that I am led to believe is only? on the '73 ECU?

My '75 had the adjustment on the ecu.

I let Joe Sharp doodle with it so I can't really answer but, he doodled it good because it idled and ran great when he was done... biggrin.gif

pbanders site says rich clockwise and lean counter.

have you timed your engine recently - maybe there is some gain to be had there?

Thanks Jim,My car is fine my question is if your ECU doesnt have a potentiometer how can you adjust the idle???I understand some ECUs dont have the pot.???

there are definitely ecu's without adjustment knob.

i guess idle screw on tb is all you got?
