Why two pumps?

Do they both have check valves? Is there a Porsche number on them? Can you take a pic?
John
I found this as a BOSCH reference:

0 580 464 021 (84-89 911 Carrera)

If this thread is still on page 1 by Monday ..... I can cross the Bosch numbers to Porsche for ya.

What's the other one for...? I need one BAD.

it must have come off my car when it was a four cylinder... they look almost identical except for the out end, the 911 one has more brass hardware... must be the check valve john talked about...
John
The other pump BOSCH # 0 580 463 010

It cross references to 043 906 091

is a 914 pump (1975/1976) and has no check valve. I have one just like it on the shelf (if anyone wants one PM me)

hmmm. My original '76 pump has a check valve. Pressure stays up for probly 15 minutes after the engine is shut off. Isn't that a checkvalve? Jim

Have you a picture?

My late style pump has no check valve. It does maintain pressure until it bleeds back through the pump. (well it did until I put a 3.2 in there)

No. No picture. It looks like yours- one nipple at each end, no return nipple. It's original to the car.
