I was offered a Bosch D-Jet FI tester for $75. The seller had a bunch of VW T3 FI parts and thought that the tester was for T3's. Is there a different tester for T3's and T4's, or are they all the same? The numbers on the back of the unit were buggered, but I think they were 0681 104 or maybe 0881 101. How do you test one of these to make sure it is working properly?

He also had a NOS FI fuel pump, # 0580 46 3005 010. Similar question, is the T3 FI pump the same as a T4, or is there a difference?

Same tester, IF it has provisions for the later throttle switch. Same pump, unless you want to use it in a '75/'76 car. The Cap'n

How can you tell if it has the provisions for the later throttle switch?

Any harm if the fuel pump looks a little oxidized on the body?

Thanks!

The tester I have has a rotary switch on the front that has a setting for Type IV. That would be an easy way to tell if it is set up for our engines.

Pump body oxidization is no biggie, methinks. As long as there's no pitting or (yipe!) holes in it.
