Ha! Surprisingly no leaks!

Sorry for the crappy pics - I stopped at a friends house and he snapped a few pics and emailed them to me. The car is actually much nicer looking in person on a sunny day.

I'll get some better pics now that she's out of storage.

I have no idea what an exhaust emissions test is. biggrin.gif

Anyhow... just for the record guys, I only had the car out in the wet for about 20 minutes tops. The lovely weather here in Michigan turned from OK to shit within 2 minutes. I took her back to the garage ASAP and I'll have some more pics (good ones) tomorrow morning.

The story on the car? I found it on craigslist in February. I waited 2 months for the PO (retired lawyer) to dig it out of storage - I'll never understand why people post items for sale that aren't quite ready to be sold. Nonetheless, I was fairly relentless and finally picked the car up for $2800. PO says he was second owner (had records and title was from 1984) - original owner was his secretary. Decent amount of records with tune-ups, fuel pump, clutch, etc. Mileage is actual at 75K.

Overall the car is really nice - very solid. Hell hole is good, very little rust (no body rust, just some very small areas in those little crevices. Interior is nice with a few seat tears being the only issues.

I fitted a new set of 2.0 replicas with 195/55 Toyo Proxies. In addition, I've done a full tune-up (new plugs, wires, points, condenser, coil - all OEM Bosch except NGK plugs.) - also replaced the battery and added new ground straps. I've restored a few things like the targa top, front and rear trunk carpets, jack and tool kit. I added a set of Hella copy fogs and the German export plate. She has a few nicks and dings, but overall presents nicely. The car had a respray back in 1981 - supposedly the paint was faded and a dealer talked the original female owner into a respray - it was done nicely, but probably wasn't needed.

I've spent most of my time detailing and trying to sort out some mechanical gremlins. She fires up everytime, but I've got a rich fuel condition that is causing drivability issues.

More to come... and thanks for the comments.
