Going back from a thread I am reading I now have to hit "refresh" and retry to make it load.

If you use the "back" button your browser will not do a refresh. Re-click the link "914 and 9146 Technical forum" and it will go back to the thread listing page AND do a refresh.

Or is that too obvious and the real problem is something else?

That's how I've been doing it since I joined. Something changed. BUT, now it's back to normal.
