Oh shucks. Yeah, I should have said vehicle instead. It's a 74 Bus!

I'm buying it for a steal, but the motor is bunk. Something like 100% blow by. smile.gif I have lots of motor parts for it ready to go, so it should be on the road again soon. I just built the motor for my 914 earlier this spring, so most of the process is still fresh in my head.

The interior is in good shape. I've owned two other bay window westys in the past. One one a '69 T1 and the other was a '73 T4. The plan is to make this my own type of camper by putting a westy folding seat in the rear. So if anyone has a westy parts lying around, let me know!

More once I sign the papers...

Was your '78 a T4 or wasserboxer?
Ferg
T4, water pumpers didn't come until 83-4 in a vanagon.

77-78 was first for hydro lifters.

I had a '75. Two tone white/yellow just like that. My dad bought it new in 1975. I bought it from him around 1993. Didn't turn out to be a practical car for me at the time so I sold it in 1995 in order to pay the tax man.

You'd think they'd want to put on wider tires confused24.gif

I couldn't see which /6 they used. Maybe it's just a 2.0. Who knows...

A guy up here has a 70's work bus with bus with 911 enigine and suspension. It kicks ass. John Walker has all sorts of neat little cars. Nice guy too.

You asked for more pics, but I didn't take many worth looking at. It needs a thorough cleaning, and I took these last week when I wasn't sure if it was going to be mine yet.

Consider these the major BEFORE pics:

Have you ever seen a nicer paint job on a T4?

That engine will be tough to time until you get a timing scale.....

Nice score and extra 914 engine parts fit great in a bus engine. thumb3d.gif

Waaaaah. The deal fell through. Oh well. smile.gif Maybe I'll go for a real westy again anyways.
