The trim pieces that hold the window seals. It looks like there was a black silicone between the body and the trim - needed? or not?

On my car it was just the trim. It does not actually hold the windshield, it just dresses up the join.

Unless you are talking about something different that I am talking about.

Talking about the door windows. Sorry if confusing.

Roll up Window >> Rubber seal >> Trim piece >> [Silicone ]? >> Body

If you are talking about the door window trim to the body, mine has a bit of Buel Tape (sp?) and the screws holding it in.

Try your FLAPS
I found some butyl tape at mine (in with windshield installation stuff)
The people at the store had no idea what I was looking for, but I was able to find it by looking around a little bit
