Have pity on me...I'm having a memory lapse! Do the brake lights work when the ignition is "OFF"? Or do they work only when the ignition is in the "ON" position?? Mine are working only with the ignition "ON" & I can't remember if that was always the case or if something has gone wrong.

Only when ignition is ON. I know because I was just deep into the dash electrical on mine.

I know on my 2 914's the only thing that works in the off position are the hazard lights, parking lights, and interior light.
