I have a '76. The gearbox is a side-shifter.
I am putting in an early 1.7 engine with the early type mounting bar.
I am 1/2 way through the installation and at first glance I don't think the gear change bar is going to clear the engine mounting bar.
Do I need the later engine mount bar? confused24.gif

The engine mounting system is different and won't interchange .... period.

You need:

1.) Engine mounts from old engine (metal brackets that hold donuts)

2.) Engine mount bar from old engine (the one with the big hole in it)

3.) Outer body mounts from old engine (flat plates instead of 1.7 rubber donuts at end of engine bar)

A Haynes manual has pictures. I don't know if Pelicans' site or this site has diagrams of the engine mounting systems.

Sorry, wish I could help you. Since the USPS changed their International Shipping venue, it has gotten seriously cost prohibitive to ship things from the colonies to the homeland.
